Overview

AirTag® Stalking & Unwanted Tracking Civil Claims

Apple knew its AirTag® products were dangerous.
NOW We're seeking to hold it accountable.

Apple AirTags® are Bluetooth trackers that launched in 2021 as an easy way to find lost items like bags, keys, and other items. They have now been weaponized and have used to stalk, track, and harm people.

How Are AirTags® Used to Hurt People?

AirTags® are easily hidden and allow wrongdoers to stalk people by using Apple’s Find My app. Common hiding spots include:

  • Slipped into personal belongings like handbags, backpacks, diaper bags, luggage, and even shoes
  • Taped under car seats or placed in car trunks or glove boxes
  • Placed under car bumpers or inside wheel wells, on bicycles and strollers
AirTags are easy to hide, and easy to abuse.

Why Are We Suing Apple for AirTag® Stalking and Tracking?

Bailey Glasser is suing Apple, alleging that the company knew it was releasing a defective and potentially dangerous product that could be weaponized. In addition, even after it was put on notice that its product was being used to stalk and harm people, Apple allegedly continued to fail to address the defect.

Our claims fall into three main categories:

  1. Defective Product Design: We allege Apple released a defective product without proper safety features, and then willfully failed to address the alleged defect, even when it knew people were being harmed.
  2. Misrepresentation: Consumers were misled into believing that Apple and its AirTag® product adequately protected them.
  3. Failure to Warn: Apple failed to warn the public of unwanted tracking and that its product could be weaponized.

Tracked by an AirTag®? Apple Should Be Held Responsible.

Apple AirTags® are designed to help people locate everyday items such as keys, wallets, purses, backpacks, and luggage. But they also allow bad actors to stalk and monitor people without their knowledge or consent by simply using Apple’s Find My app.

Serious stalking, physical violence, or violations of protection orders may form the basis of a strong civil case. (These are cases for monetary damages in civil court, not criminal cases.)

Claimants generally must connect Apple’s alleged wrongdoing to their injuries for legal claims to move forward.

This small device can be easy to conceal and may expose people subjected to unwanted tracking to serious harm.

Finding out that you may have been tracked can be deeply unsettling. You may have questions about your safety, your privacy, your family, your evidence, and what steps to take next.

Our team understands that these situations can be sensitive, personal, and frightening. We approach every conversation with care, discretion, and respect for your experience.
