Jury Awards $3.79 Million in Wrongful Death Claim

10.08.2014

An Idaho jury awarded $3.79 million in the wrongful death claim of a patient who died from an overwhelming sepsis from infection just four days after undergoing cosmetic surgery in Ada County, Idaho.

Claims asserted were that the instruments and equipment used were improperly sterilized leading to infection, sepsis and death in the patient who was only 27 years old.  After a three week trial, the jury deliberated for seven hours and found that not only were the defendants negligent, but reckless in their care.

Greg Haddad of Bailey Glasser’s Morgantown, West Virginia, office tried the case.
