Timothy Duree

Overview

Partner Timothy ("Tad") Duree is an experienced trial attorney who guides clients through their most difficult litigation matters. Before joining Bailey Glasser's Commercial & Environmental Practice Group, Tad served for more than a decade as a federal prosecutor, during which time he managed some of the Department of Justice’s most sophisticated matters and tried approximately a dozen cases.

Tad worked for several years in the Fraud Section of DOJ’s Criminal Division, which handles many of DOJ’s most complex white-collar criminal matters. While there, Tad managed two health care fraud strike forces in the New York City area, overseeing the work of teams of attorneys dedicated exclusively to the investigation of challenging nationwide and multinational health care fraud cases.

Before becoming a supervisor, Tad was a Trial Attorney in the Market Integrity and Major Frauds Unit, which prosecutes some of the most significant financial crimes in the world, including many with a cross-border component. In that role, Tad managed the resolution of allegations against an international bank for manipulating a worldwide interest rate, and he oversaw an investigation into a major airline for defrauding the United States Postal Service. Tad also successfully tried an explosive case of police misconduct by employees of the Drug Enforcement Administration in the New Orleans, billed by the local press as “one of the biggest scandals in Louisiana law enforcement in decades.”

Earlier in his career, Tad worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Western District of Texas, where he managed a massive, fast-moving docket and tried several cases to guilty verdict. He also served as a law clerk to a federal district judge in the Western District of Texas and worked as an associate at a large law firm in Washington, DC.
