01.28.2021

Bailey Glasser partner John Barrett has been named as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. LCA is an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society established to reflect the new face of the American bar. The purpose of the organization is to recognize deserving, experienced, and highly qualified lawyers, to provide an outlet for scholarly authorship of legal articles on trial and litigation practice, to provide additional resources for professional development, to promote superior advocacy and ethical standards in the practice of law, to assist in community involvement by its membership, and to advance a superior judiciary, by taking positions on issues or legislation affecting judicial compensation and benefits, as well as those affecting the American litigation processes.

Membership is limited to 3,500 Fellows, representing less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellows are selected and invited into Fellowship after being evaluated for effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation and trial work, along with ethical reputation.

John focuses his practice on representing consumers in class action lawsuits brought under federal telemarketing laws (TCPA), consumer protection statutes, and consumer warranty laws. In the last five years, he has led efforts to recover more than $130 million in TCPA class actions; co-led the team in securing an unprecedented product liability class action settlement against a Brazilian pistol manufacturer; and served as special assistant attorney general recovering over $10 million for violations of West Virginia consumer protection law.
