Todd A. Walburg, a partner with national law firm Bailey Glasser LLP in its California office, has been named a finalist for the 2021 San Francisco Trial Lawyer of the Year Award for his work representing a severely injured bicyclist.

Todd served as lead trial counsel in winning a $1.85 million unanimous jury verdict for Catherine Williams, a local college dean severely injured when her bicycle struck a large pothole on a Sonoma County road. The jury determined the road to be in dangerous condition, and its 2018 verdict has since been upheld by the California Court of Appeals.

Todd has represented plaintiffs in product liability, personal injury, employment, sexual abuse, class action, mass tort, and whistleblower cases throughout the U.S. for more than two decades. He devotes much of his practice to representing individuals who have been seriously injured, or who have lost a loved one, as a result of corporate misconduct or individual negligence. Todd was drawn to this type of work at age 18 when he worked part time for a personal injury trial attorney, and he has continued working in the same field ever since – driven by his compassion for people who have suffered a loss.

The San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association (SFTLA), founded more than 70 years ago by renown trial lawyer Melvin Belli, is one of the oldest and largest plaintiff attorney organizations in the country. It works to promote civil justice through education and trial advocacy.
