Callum Walters

Overview

Callum Walters is a senior associate with over seven years' experience in commercial disputes and complex cross-border litigation involving multinational corporations.  

In his prior work for the law firm of Pogust Goodhead, Callum was a key member of the team on the BHP Group litigation (Município de Mariana v BHP) — one of the largest group actions ever heard in England & Wales — having worked on the case since its inception in 2018. The proceedings established the jurisdiction of the English courts and progressed through a 14-week liability trial brought by thousands of claimants affected by the Mariana dam disaster. Callum has also been involved with the Pan-NOx Emissions Group Litigation, where roughly 1.6 million vehicle owners sued major car manufacturers over allegedly cheating diesel emissions tests. 

Aside from these environmental group actions, Callum was also part of the team that represented around 1,500 Brazilian orange farmers in a competition law claim in respect of an alleged cartel in the market for the purchase of oranges for the production of orange juice in Brazil between 1999 and 2006.

Callum recently co-authored the "England & Wales — Market Insights" chapter of the Global Legal Post's inaugural "Law Over Borders Comparative Guide: Class Actions."

Callum completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP with Commendation, then earned a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course at BPP.
