Adam Peavy

Overview

Partner Adam Peavy is part of Bailey Glasser’s nationally recognized Mass Torts Practice Group where he helps lead the firm’s litigation teams in Roundup litigation.

Adam has deep experience in handling MDLs and complex litigation, commercial litigation, and products liability litigation, with a special interest in chemical and pharmaceutical cases representing clients injured by dangerous products sold in the United States.

On the Roundup front, Adam has litigated multiple cases in California, Missouri, and Pennsylvania. One of Adam’s trials against the makers of Roundup (Dennis v. Monsanto) resulted in a $300 million dollar verdict and stands as one of the largest Roundup verdicts to date.

Adam has fearlessly litigated against the largest pharmaceutical companies in America. In addition to his Roundup work, Adam is one of the main lawyers in the United States leading cases against GSK, the maker of the antidepressant Paxil.

As one example, Adam was one of four lawyers who litigated the first Paxil birth defect case in Philadelphia (Kilker v. GSK). Ultimately, that jury found that GSK failed to properly warn doctors and pregnant users of Paxil’s risk and concluded that GSK must pay $2.5 million to one of Adam’s clients. The verdict led to the settlement of Adam’s clients’ cases and ultimately helped resolve the entire litigation. It has been publicly reported that total settlements in Paxil litigation that Adam handled exceeded $700 million in verdicts and settlements.

Adam is a graduate of the South Texas College of Law, where he became a member of the Order of Barristers, a national honor society for courtroom advocates. In addition to his litigation experience, Adam served as a briefing attorney for Justice Margaret Garner Mirabal of the First Court of Appeals in Texas.

Adam is married to April Peavy and has two sons and a rescue dog named Andy. They live in Houston.
