Bailey & Glasser Attorney Helps Get Flood Victim Speedier Payment

It had to have been one of the most iconic images from this summer’s devastating floods in West Virginia: A house fully engulfed in flames floating down Howard’s Creek in White Sulphur Springs.

Mark Adwell, the owner of that house, was having trouble getting paid the $60,000 owed him by his flood insurance policy. Marc Weintraub of Bailey Glasser’s Charleston, West Virginia, office, agreed to represent him pro bono to help speed the payment. As part of that effort, Weintraub discovered that Adwell also had fire insurance.

In the end, Weintraub not only sped up the $60,000 payment, but also got Adwell an additional $15,000 he was due from the fire insurance.
