Kurt Gleeson brings more than 35 years of experience in the real estate industry as both a transactional real estate and land use attorney in the private and federal sectors, and as a senior operations executive in the residential real estate brokerage industry.
He handles a wide variety of transactional matters including the following.
- Representation of sellers and buyers in the purchase and sale of commercial, office, industrial, mixed-use and residential real estate
- Representation of commercial and residential developers and residential homeowners in land use and governmental permitting issues
- Representation of landlords and tenants in commercial and residential leasing transactions
- Representation of commercial and residential lenders in the financing of real estate, including acquisition, construction and permanent financing
- Representation of residential and commercial brokerage companies and real estate professionals in ethics, licensing, compliance, franchising, operations matters and dispute resolution

Representative Matters
- Served as counsel to an energy company in the refinancing of its commercial real estate portfolio
- Served as counsel to several investors in the acquisition of commercial real estate subject to triple net leases
- Served as counsel to an investor in the acquisition of Section 8 apartment communities
- Led a groundbreaking legal effort to successfully foreclose on an abandoned coal mine due to environmental obligations and redevelop the land for large-scale commercial agriculture purposes
- Served as counsel to a secured party in the foreclosure, acquisition and redevelopment of a coal mine
- Served as counsel to a restaurateur in the acquisition of a retail strip center
- Served as general counsel to one of Tampa Bay’s leading residential real estate brokerage companies and its mortgage and title affiliates
- Served as counsel to a group of physicians in the acquisition and financing of the real property and other assets of oral surgery practices
- Served as Assistant Regional Counsel for the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) in the National Capital Region; provided counsel to the Public Buildings Service of GSA and to external agency clients, including the Department of Defense and the Central Intelligence Agency
