Gregory W. Payton works closely with clients that include public and private companies, family-owned businesses, financial institutions, and leaders across an array of industries. Greg is part of a dynamic Corporate department that regularly leads innovative transactions ranging in size from $1 million to $1 billion and serving diverse businesses within such regulated fields as energy, manufacturing, real estate, automotive, healthcare, technology, gaming, eSports, communications, and cannabis. The team also handles complex financing arrangements, business valuations, banking services, and works with businesses on company formation, governance, workouts, and foreclosures.
Greg is a graduate of the Stetson University College of Law, where he served as an executive board member of its Black Law Students Association, interned with the American Civil Liberties Union, and served as a volunteer in Stetson’s Center for Excellence in Higher Education Law and Policy. Greg also spent time in the Netherlands studying at the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice. Greg is deeply committed to helping young people, and to that end is a volunteer court-appointed Guardian ad Litem in the 6th Judicial Circuit where he acts as a “next friend of the child” in family law matters.
Greg earned a bachelor’s degree from Williams College where he studied psychology and Africana Studies. He was also a three-sport athlete at Williams, participating on the football, basketball, and track & field teams. In his first post-collegiate position, Greg joined the renowned IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he mentored students-athletes from around the world.
When not serving his Bailey Glasser clients, Greg enjoys bicycling and pickup basketball.
