Jonathan D. Boggs

Jon Boggs' practice spans Bailey & Glasser's litigation, energy and environment, health care and transactional groups.  Early in his career, Jon did securities litigation with Skadden, Arps in Boston and then business and regulatory work with Shea & Gardner in D.C.  Jon was the primary litigator responsible for obtaining a settlement of over $10 million on behalf of his client against a Fortune 500 company, and he has routinely represented both plaintiffs and defendants in complex business and energy matters.

A native of Charleston, Jon returned to West Virginia to accept a post in state government as Commissioner of State Health Facilities, where he oversaw the operation of seven public hospitals and nursing homes.  Mr. Boggs was Chairman of the Boards of Directors of both Huntington Hospital and Sharpe Hospital.

Jon graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and concurrently earned a Master's degree in Public Policy from Harvard's JFK School of Government.  He then served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable James L. Buckley, Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.  Jon was a Fulbright Scholar to the University of Barcelona, where he studied Spanish history and culture and also taught as a Visiting Professor in American Studies.

Prior to law school, Mr. Boggs attended Wheaton College in Illinois, where he graduated summa cum laude and was Vice-president of Student Government.  He has also lectured as an adjunct professor at the West Virginia University School of Law.  Mr. Boggs is admitted to practice in West Virginia, Massachusetts, D.C. and Florida.
